As part of its stringent safety and quality procedures, Futureglass only uses glass toughened to British Standard Institute’s BS6206A. To ensure conformity, we test a piece of glass from every batch as part of our rigorous quality control system.

We test all products for performance and safety. Independent testing at FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association) saw our audio-visual supports pass safety testing for loading of 100 kilos per shelf at the maximum shelf spacing of 350mm for a 5 shelf 5 pole unit.

Although our furniture is made from a delicate material, glass when handled correctly has a strength that is simply astounding. However, in the unlikely event of an accident where the glass was damaged, the glass would fail in as safe a manner as possible by forming tiny, relatively blunt pieces.
